Jinchuan Group Successfully Develops GH3625 Alloy Strip for Solar Thermal Power Generation
According to Jinchuan Group Co., Ltd., in response to a significant scientific research project titled "Development and Industrialization of High-Temperature Nickel-Based Alloy GH3625 Strip for Solar Thermal Power Generation," the National Key Laboratory for the Development and Comprehensive Utilization of Nickel-Cobalt Co-Existing Resources has fully utilized its scientific and innovative capabilities. In collaboration with the Nickel Alloy Company, leveraging existing processes and equipment advantages, they have jointly overcome the production difficulties of high-precision GH3625 strips for solar thermal power generation, with product performance fully meeting customer requirements.
The implementation of this project has carried out the import substitution of high-temperature alloy GH3625 for solar thermal power absorbers, achieving a breakthrough in the application of Jinchuan high-temperature alloy GH3625 strips in the field of solar thermal power generation. It has also further promoted the construction of solar thermal power stations in China and enhanced the autonomous guarantee capability of key materials for China's solar thermal power generation.
High-temperature alloy GH3625 is widely used in industries such as petrochemical, marine engineering, food processing, and waste gas treatment, in addition to solar thermal power generation. Through the implementation of this project, Jinchuan Group has further mastered the double and triple melting processes of high-temperature alloy GH3625, as well as the forging and rolling processes, laying a solid foundation for the development of other specifications of GH3625 forgings and plate strips.
Fan Yu, the project leader of the National Key Laboratory for the Development and Comprehensive Utilization of Nickel-Cobalt Co-Existing Resources, said, "Through the development of this project, we have mastered the production process of high-precision GH3625 strips for solar thermal power generation. Last year, we completed a 2-ton GH3625 strip order for the Vice Chairman Unit of the Solar Thermal Alliance - Shouhang High-tech Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and successfully applied it to the absorber of the Dunhuang solar thermal power station. In May of this year, we completed another 6-ton GH3625 strip order for Shouhang High-tech. Next, we will continue to be committed to the research and development and application of high-temperature alloys, carrying out application research on double and triple melting processes and forging and rolling processes of high-temperature alloys, promoting technological progress and industrial upgrading in the field of solar thermal power generation, and contributing more to the development of China's new energy industry."

On June 21, the Baosteel Desheng 1780mm hot rolling heating furnace enriched oxygen combustion technology renovation project, designed and equipped by Chongqing Side Thermal Engineering Environmental Protection, was successfully put into operation. INSG: Global Nickel Market Shifts to a Surplus of 10,000 Tons in April 2024
According to foreign news, data released by the International Nickel Study Group (INSG) on Friday showed that the global nickel market had a surplus of 10,000 tons in April of this year, compared with a shortage of 13,000 tons in March. The same period last year was a surplus of 5,900 tons.
For the first four months of this year, the nickel market had a surplus of 22,600 tons, compared with a surplus of 35,000 tons in the same period last year.
