🔹 LME Suspends Acceptance of Nickel Deliveries from Norilsk Nickel's Harjavalta Plant in Finland 🔹
According to reports, the London Metal Exchange (LME) will suspend acceptance of nickel deliveries from the Harjavalta plant owned by Russian Norilsk Nickel PJSC in Finland. Despite Western sanctions on Russian metals, the company's products can still be delivered.
The LME stated in a notice issued on Wednesday that from October 3, nickel cathodes and nickel beans from the Harjavalta plant will no longer be accepted for delivery.
The exchange did not explain why it took this action, but it has delisted many metal brands this year after requiring compliance with responsible sourcing rules.
According to Norilsk Nickel's annual report, the Harjavalta plant is an important refined nickel production plant with an annual capacity of 65,000 tons, and last year's total output was 208,000 tons.
